Leukemia

Leukemia is a cancer that you can get in your blood or bone marrow. The word Leukemia comes from the Greek word leukos which means white and aima which means blood. Leukemia may also cause hair loss. Some types of Leukemia are:

Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Acute Myelogenous Leukemia
Chronic Lymphoblastic Leukemia
Chronic Myelogenous Leukemia

The cancer starts in tissue and moves to the bone marrow. The causes for Leukemia are not known. People with Chronic Leukemia usually have no symptoms. The treatment  depends on the type of Leukemia. It is very possible for kids to get Leukemia.
